Solsgirth Home Farm is a brand new agri-tourism project and visitor attraction based near Dollar, Clacmannanshire.

Former vets and owners Jan Dixon and Leigh Grainger, run the farm as sustainable community hub where everything works in harmony with the environment, reconnecting soil, plants and animals so that they pass on healthier land to future generations.

They have a vision to restore the diversity of the farm for environmental and economic sustainability and link food with people. They have created a community space where people from all backgrounds can visit, stay, learn and have fun.

The website is not only a showcase for their own farm-reared meat and products but also promotes monthly farmers markets, fun creative courses, educational opportunities, and provides a booking platform for their four holiday properties.

Jan and Leigh commissioned The Malting House to create a brand style and logo for the project ahead of beginning work on the website.

The website provides information on the history of the farm, and the ambitions of the new project. From the home page there are large button links to the shop, information about the Farmer’s markets, holiday properties, education, farm experiences and creative courses.

We have built in timed booking/ticketing systems for Farm Experiences and Creative Courses allowing payments to be taken in advance. Integrated forms allow the farm team to gather details of participants.

An event system provides details of upcoming markets.

The ecommerce offer allows products to be grouped into categories with options for different products to purchase by size or weight. A tracking system in the dashboard allows the client to manage the inventory. “Back in stock” requests and pre-orders can also be managed, along with abandoned shopping basket reminders. Shoppers can store their details in a login area for future purchases.

Links to social media help build the community and live feeds from Instagram keeps the content fresh and up-to-date.

A simple sign-up form encourages users to subscribe to their newsletter. Contact forms are set up to deal with generic enquiries and accommodation enquiries. Forms are linked to a database in the dashboard. Automations and an enewsletter functionality allows the client to send relevant information to subscribers.

A search box allows users to search the whole site for relevant information.

The site is optimised for mobile, tablet and desktop screens.
