In her role as Deacon of the ancient Dyer Craft of the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee, Wendy recently visited the Degree Show at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art to present awards to graduating BDes (Hons) Illustration students in recognition of outstanding use of colour in their work.

Accompanied by Professor Mick Peter, Chair of Fine Art and Illustration, Wendy and Boxmaster of the Dyer Craft, Jackie Malcolm, toured the exhibition and reviewed the students’ displays and portfolios. Prizes were awarded to four talented graduates whose work demonstrated exceptional achievement in colour application, artistic excellence and creative expression.

Marking the 30th anniversary of her own graduation from Duncan of Jordanstone, Wendy said: “It was an absolute honour to return to the College to see the students’ work. The standard was incredibly high, making our decision very difficult. However, we were delighted to select four students, Euan, Heather, Clara, and Jonathan, whose work was truly outstanding. On behalf of the Dyers, we wish them every success as they embark on their creative careers.”

Later in the week, Wendy also delivered the keynote talk at the Degree Show, on behalf of the University of Dundee, at a business breakfast for Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce. Wendy shared highlights of her career since graduating in Graphic Design in 1995.
