On behalf of the Dyer Craft, Boxmaster Jackie Malcolm and I attended Dundee and Angus College’s prizegiving ceremony to present awards to two outstanding HND Textiles students, Sophie Macfarlane and Jasmine Paterson each of whom received a certificate and £100 for ‘Best Use of Colour’ in their work.
Speaking wise words at the event, Principle Simon Hewitt, encouraged the students to not let this be their peak but their platform to go on to greater things.
Then on Friday 22nd May, we visited the 2026 Degree Show at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art to present awards to graduating BDes (Hons) Graphic Design students in recognition of outstanding use of colour in their work.
Being graphic design graduates of DJCAD ourselves, Jackie and I very much enjoyed reviewing the portfolios on display and presented awards to two students whose work demonstrated exceptional achievement in colour application, artistic excellence and creative expression. Congratulations to Orla Deighan and Corran Dingwall.
On behalf of the Dyer Craft, we extend our very best wishes to all the students as they embark on the next stage of their creative careers.
The Degree Show showcases the work of over 420 graduating students, and is open until Sunday 31st May, every day from 10am until 4pm, with late opening until 8pm on Thursday 28th and Saturday 30th May.
